 The California Air National Guard Base in Fresno is home to the 144th Fighter Wing. The 144th Fighter Wing's mission is to provide Air Superiority in support of worldwide joint operations as well as Air Defense at home. Additionally, the wing contributes agile combat support, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance for the combatant commander.
The 144th Fighter Wing also is prepared to contribute to Defense Support of Civil Authorities (DSCA) missions when called upon by the Governor of California. Primary contributions include, ready manpower, reconnaissance assets, response to chemical and biological attacks, security, medical and command and control.
