U.S. Air National Guard Brig. Gen. Steven Butow, California Air National Guard commander, officiated an assumption of command ceremony, Sept. 11, 2022, at the 144th Fighter Wing where Col. Christopher Clark assumed command as the 144th Fighter Wing commander.

During the ceremony, Clark spoke about supporting the 144th FW’s mission as a part of his areas of priority.

“The 144th Fighter Wing is a combat-ready fighter force that is sustained, maintained and operated by professional, well-trained Airmen who operate with integrity and excellence and are ready to maintain the homeland at a moment’s notice,” Clark said.  “My vision for the 144th Fighter Wing is to be the best air dominance wing in the Air Force. We will make that happen. … I’m extremely honored to be here, to join you and to become one of the Griffins.”

Clark previously served as the 19th Air Force Combat Air Forces and Remotely Piloted Aircraft directorate of operations division chief at Randolph Air Force Base, Texas.
